Who I am – Veerle Geuens
I am Veerle Geuens, a clinical psychologist with an intuitive and holistic approach. I have extensive experience working with adults and (young) adults, and am specialized in supporting a wide range of psychological concerns.
In today’s society — often characterized by a constant “rat race” — it’s becoming increasingly difficult to remain true to ourselves and follow our own natural rhythm. Social expectations and ideals can cause us to lose touch with our authentic selves and our deeper needs, which may lead to feelings of being stuck, helpless, or overwhelmed.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, grief, burnout, trauma, stress, low self-esteem, psychosomatic complaints, or major life changes such as divorce, my aim is to create a safe, warm space where you are free to feel what you feel, and where you are listened to without judgment. Together, we explore ways to reconnect with stability and meaning in your life.
In my work, I guide you in allowing and integrating emotions, rediscovering your authentic needs, strengths, and talents, and finding new perspectives or direction. We also explore past experiences that may still influence your relationship with yourself or with others today.
Alongside my work as a psychologist, I am also a yoga teacher, yoga therapist, and menstrual coach, specialized in women’s wellbeing. I integrate breathing techniques, meditation, body-oriented and relaxation-based approaches into my sessions, as I believe in the healing power of reconnecting body and mind as a foundation for growth and transformation. In a society where we often live predominantly “in our heads,” it is essential to feel at home in our bodies again.
I currently live in France, after having spent several years in Southeast Asia and England, which has also given me extensive experience working with expats. I offer online sessions in Dutch, English, and French.
